Religious Affliction shows the deep problems of religious indoctrination. Many people have firsthand, lifelong experience with issues surrounding the teaching of religious practices and with the struggle to advocate for mental health in the church. This work depicts a woman asleep on a peaceful mountain scene. She rests on pill bottles that spill out flowers into a beautiful bright field. However, her mind is still troubled by the ominous messages told to her and by the heaviness they put on her.
Clarissa Dunagan is a twenty-six-year-old emerging graphic designer. Her style includes bright colors and psychedelic designs that nod to street art and Pop Art of the 60s and 70s. She has been drawing since the age of seven; however, she recently began to dabble in graphic design, defining her skills and finding her true passion. She is also a talented painter and has done freelance work in many counties in Georgia.
